West Texas Counseling & Guidance (WTCG) is excited to announce all San Angelo offices are now located in the newly renovated floors of the Historic Cactus Hotel.

In a remarkable leap forward for the community of San Angelo, Texas, WTCG has expanded their services into the iconic Historic Cactus Hotel, working to become a sanctuary for mental health and well-being, blending the charm of the past with the promise of a brighter future.

With a focus on specialized care, WTCG has allocated specific floors to cater to the diverse needs of the community. The 9th floor as the Michael Montgomery Talley Children's Center, the 10th floor as the Dusty Norris Family Center is dedicated to Zero Suicide Services and Crisis Appointments, and the 11th floor for Veterans Services, in addition to the 6th floor housing many WTCG therapists for individual counseling and other service needs.

9th Floor: Michael Montgomery Talley Children's Center
Here, children and adolescents find a safe space to explore their emotions and embark on the journey of healing. With expert Play Therapists, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services and counselors for children and teens, this floor resonates with laughter, learning, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow for our youngest community members.

10th Floor: Dusty Norris Family Center for Zero Suicide Services and Crisis Appointments: WTCG's Zero Suicide Services and Crisis Appointments provide vital support to individuals facing emotional crises. Here, compassionate counselors work tirelessly to offer immediate intervention, ensuring that no one faces their darkest moments alone. The floor stands as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards recovery and resilience.

11th Floor: Veterans Services
Dedicated to honoring our veterans, in this space military personnel find specialized counseling services tailored to their unique experiences and needs. WTCG's dedicated team of therapists and case managers, many of whom are veterans themselves, provide understanding and support, addressing the challenges faced by those who have served our country. This floor stands as a symbol of gratitude, offering mental health care as a token of appreciation for their sacrifices.

The Expansion: A Bold Step Forward
WTCG's decision to expand into the Historic Cactus Hotel is a visionary step that promises to redefine mental health services in San Angelo. With this expansion, the organization aims to reach more individuals, families, and communities, offering support and counseling services that are easily accessible and tailored to diverse needs.

The fusion of history, community, and mental health services is a beacon of light, guiding San Angelo towards a future where everyone’s well-being is a priority. In this transformative journey, the city doesn’t just witness the evolution of a building; it witnesses the evolution of compassion, understanding, and a community united in the pursuit of wellness. An expansion of not only the physical spaces, but an expansion of hope, understanding, and resilience. By embedding mental health services within a historical landmark, the stigma surrounding mental health is further eroded, paving the way for a more compassionate and empathetic community. Built in 1929, the Historic Cactus Hotel stands as a testament to San Angelo’s rich history. Now, it’s being repurposed to serve a noble cause: providing counseling and guidance to those in need. The fusion of historical preservation and community service is a testament to WTCG’s commitment to both the city’s heritage and its people.
