Ariadna Sonni-Oquendo (Ari) is a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed by the State of Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with minors in Spanish and Criminal Justice, from Angelo State University in 2017, and later completed her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the same institution in 2020.
Ari is deeply committed to helping individuals heal from difficult experiences, working with both children and adults who have faced challenges such as domestic violence, trauma, substance use, depression, and anxiety. She is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which focus on helping clients understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to promote lasting positive change. Additionally, Ari is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy, both of which are highly effective for trauma recovery. Beyond trauma-focused therapies, Ari also helps clients develop self-care routines, coping strategies, and cognitive processing skills to foster resilience and personal growth. In her work with couples, she utilizes the Gottman Method, a research-based approach that strengthens relationships through effective communication, conflict resolution, and emotional support.
Ari is a military spouse and has recently been relocated to Alabama. As a result, she is currently offering telehealth services exclusively. Despite the physical distance, Ari remains deeply compassionate and committed to providing the best possible care to her clients.
