Klaye Coleman received her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology in 2013 and a Master's degree in Social Work in 2021, both from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. In 2024 she became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Texas.
Being a West Texas native living the country life, Klaye's passion resides in the heart of San Angelo. As a previous teacher and coach, Klaye wants to continue making changes in the lives of our youth. Klaye has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various social work settings: The school system, Judicial System, Mental Health, and Psychiatric Hospital Social Work. She has worked with individuals and groups struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, grief/loss, self-harm, domestic violence, self-esteem, and suicidal ideations/attempts. Within these settings, she worked collaboratively with individuals, families, and groups directed on identifying a healthy support system and positive coping strategies, strengths, effective communication, and overall creating a plan to improve the client's well-being.
Klaye is passionate about empowering others to succeed and work through life's challenging moments when they feel like giving up. She provides a safe, friendly, and open atmosphere where all clients, no matter their age, feel welcomed. Using person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused techniques, clients can understand their way of thinking and challenge negative thoughts/behaviors to promote a healthier lifestyle. Klaye's focus is to continue working with children, adolescents, and young adults.
Klaye joined West Texas Counseling and Guidance in 2022 and is located on the 9th floor of the Cactus Hotel.
