Melody Twombly earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Angelo State University in 2014. Melody is licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Melody was born and raised in San Angelo. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor certified by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors in 2015. She enjoys and has experience working with families, teenagers, and children.
Melody has worked in several different environments providing therapeutic services to the members of the community, having provided individual and group therapy services in intensive outpatient, and inpatient hospital settings in addition to her current work with West Texas Counseling and Guidance.
Melody operates from a collaborative competency-based approach. This approach involves recognizing strengths inherent to both individuals and families, and involves weaving such strengths into the counseling process.
Melody is interested in working with children and adolescents to help them with a variety of problems, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, behavioral issues, grief, and other mental health concerns.
Melody will provide treatment geared towards facilitating your child's transition through separation or divorce. She will not provide forensic interviews, custody and/or visitation evaluations, serve as an expert witness, or provide testimonial services in custody cases.
Melody became a co-facilitator for the Survivors of Suicide (SOS) grief support group in July of 2023. This group is for anyone 18 years old or older seeking support for grief associated with a loved one’s suicide. Melody is a Certified Grief Informed Professional.
